Berger and Montague is investigating complaints by consumers
concerning various models of ovens and ranges made by Dacor,
Inc. Consumers have reported widespread problems with the
electrical components, including the control panel, circuit boards,
thermostats, and self-cleaning functions, among other things.
Consumers have further reported that Dacor has sometimes denied
repair claims while a product was under warranty or has provided
repairs that were not sufficient to solve the underlying problem.
These repairs often cost consumers hundreds if not thousands of
dollars. Additional complaints have been reported concerning
denial of service claims from Dacor's extended warranty provider,
Service Net LLC.
Dacor makes single- and double- wall ovens and single- and
double-fuel ranges. Dacor's wall ovens are in four product
lines: Discovery, Renaissance, Distinctive, and Classic. The names
of the range models are the same, save for Classic, which is absent
from the range models lexicon. Ranges vary in size from 30" to 48".
