problems. If you or a loved one suffered

What is Benicar and why is it dangerous?
Benicar was approved in 2002 to reduce and control
hypertension, or high blood pressure. Research has since
revealed that it causes severe gastrointestinal (GI) problems that
resemble Celiac disease, an allergy to the wheat protein found in
grains. These symptoms include stomach pain, chronic
diarrhea, and severe weight loss. Patients with these
symptoms are usually tested for Celiac disease, and once it is
ruled out, these conditions are called sprue-like enteropathy and
villous atrophy. Mayo Clinic researchers recently found that
patients on Benicar with these symptoms only saw improvement after
they stopped taking the drug.
Lawsuits against Benicar claim that its manufacturers
failed to adequately warn doctors and patients about the risk of
serious GI problems. Even though Benicar has been on the
market since 2002, it was not until mid-2013 that its manufacturers
added a warning to the drug's labeling.

If you've suffered from GI problems after taking Benicar,
you may be able to take legal recourse to collect compensation for
all current and future medical expenses related to the treatment of
your GI problems, as well as damages for pain and suffering.
