On June 18, 2002, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the district court’s 762 page opinion which had dismissed the claims of several thousand individuals suffering from cancer and/or other serious disease who attribute their respective illnesses to exposure to radioactive emissions from the Hanford Nuclear Weapons Reservation located in southeastern Washington state. The appellate court also reinstated the testimony of 17 of plaintiffs’ experts that had been stricken by the district court under the Supreme Court’s Daubert decision.
Updates about the progress of the Hanford litigation will be regularly posted on the Hanford litigation case page.
