On February 25, 2009, Berger & Montague, P.C. was honored as one of this year’s recipients of the Chancellor’s Award presented by the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (“VIP”).
Sayde J. Ladov, Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, presented the award, which was accepted on behalf of the firm by Laura Lane Gleason, an associate at Berger & Montague. Ms. Gleason is a member of the firm’s Antitrust Department and has been handling custody cases for VIP.
Robin Switzenbaum, a shareholder at Berger & Montague and a member of the Joint Board of Community Legal Services of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Legal Assistance, was also present. Ms. Switzenbaum represents homeowners in VIP’s Mortgage Foreclosure Program. Laura Gleason, a member of the firm’s Antitrust Department, has also been handling mortgage foreclosure work for VIP.
VIP provides crucial legal services to more than 1,000 low-income Philadelphia residents annually. The organization relies on volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono representation for these families and individuals.
