Sherrie R. Savett, chair of Berger & Montague's securities department and a managing partner, was recently named vice-president of the board of the National Liberty Museum. Ms. Savett has served on the board for five years.
The National Liberty Museum, located in Philadelphia's Historic District, is devoted to celebrating the nation's diversity and to fighting the bigotry and violence that has sometimes accompanied this diversity.
The Museum boasts 76 exhibits, 179 works of contemporary art, and tells the stories of 1,993 heroes from 55 nations within eight galleries and spaces. It was founded in 1955 by Irvin J. Borowsky, a long-time publisher who retired not to relaxation but to promoting understanding and dialogue between the followers of various religious traditions. After many years in the fund-raising and planning stages, the museum opened its doors at its current location in 2000.
