The Berger and Montague team of attorneys who prevailed in a case against Dow Chemical Co. and Rockwell International for the contamination of the property of thousands of residents near the Rocky Flats, Colorado, nuclear weapons manufacturing facility received the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award for 2009 by the Public Justice Foundation.
The Foundation cited lead plaintiff attorney Merrill G. Davidoff and his team for their "long and hard-fought" victory against "formidable corporate and government defendants." In addition to Mr. Davidoff, Berger and Montague attorneys Peter Nordberg, David Sorensen, Ellen Noteware, and Jenna MacNaughton-Wong were presented with the award. The Foundation also cited Berger and Montague co-counsel in this case, as well as attorneys who represented the victims of the 1988 downed Pan Am 103 flight over Lockerbie, Scotland.
The Public Justice Foundation is a non-profit organization that marshals the skills of some 3,000 attorneys who "fight for justice through precedent-setting litigation."
